You can read this mature males only have a limited amount of time. There’s no way of saying how old it is.

He's super cute.

You should rehouse him into something smaller and not so tall. If he is a mature male, he will spend the rest of his days searching high and low for a female, and could suffer a fall in that enclosure. The alternative would be to add a bunch of substrate, so there's only about 1.5x his diagonal leg span of height for him to fall from.

Water is paramount now, he may not each much and a day will come he won't eat at all. They get most of their moisture from food. So encouraging water may keep his batteries going longer. Another benefit of having a smaller enclosure, it's less distance to search for the water dish. If you go the more dirt, same enclosure route, you should add another dish and split the distance. And that leads me to the last potential risk with that enclosure, he could get stuck in the mesh lid.

Out of curiosity, what is his diagonal leg span?

Mature male aphonopelma sp, give it a little water bowl but prob won’t eat much. These can live a year or two after maturing as they’re one of the longest lived genera but it’s still just a matter of time, I’d try to feed once a month
