i think it was 1993.things like this get changed all the time when people revise or newly decribe species/genera.also i beilieve it was named aphonoplema pallidum first then moved to brachypelma.but aphonopelma pallidum is still a valid species but not present in the hobby.again dont quote me on this but i think thats correct

Hi Nitibus,

When was B.pallidum changed to B. verdezi and why ?
B. pallidum did not change to B. verdezi.

The spider we now know as B. verdezi was undescribed until 2003. However it was sometimes erroneously sold as "B. pallidum" and/or "A. pallidum" (and still is by some folks).

Aphonopelma pallidum is a seperate, valid species, which was for a brief time in the genus Brachypelma. This spider is not in the hobby that I know of.
