Tarantulas under a SEM

I got to play with the scanning electron microscope (SEM) the other day and we got some pictures of a molt. Some resolution was lost in the transfer of the picture through the capture device.

These came from a couple small molts, on e of which was Ceratogyrus brachycephalus and another was Citharischius crawshayi. Unfortunately I don't remeber which was which. We used these just because we were aligning the SEM and needed a disposable target that had a lot of intricate features to play with the focusing of the machine.

Ah, slings! I was wondering why the claws where so small in comparison to the hairs on the underside of the foot. Though never having seen a large T's foot that close up I wouldn't know what that looks like in comparison.
