Diawara says the tarantulas are harmless. He says they generally do not bite, but if it does, the venom won't hurt you.

"They don't hurt anybody. We should all, when you see one you should help them, you know, just help them find their way around," Diawara said.

Nice article. Good to note the truth of their harmless nature added in. :)

I have yet to see a mm hentzi crossing a road here in nw La yet this fall. I wonder if many have possibly delayed their ultimate molt a few weeks for cooler weather with slightly moister conditions- after the drought and heat we've been experiencing.....and with wishful thinking add to that a late-arriving winter. Both would certainly work for me as well! :p
