after a molt,i will usually fatten up a juvenile/subadult/adult tarantula with a thawed pre killed pinky mouse.i usually leave it in over night and wake up with just the smelly mouse parts.my one peruvian green velvet juvenile found the pinky about an hour after i put it in last night, but for the last 24 hours all its been doing is sitting with the pinky mouse directly under it!! its face is literally touching the pinky, but its not eating.its just sitting there motioness with the pinky underneath its legs, the thing is touching its face and its just sitting there.any ideas why it could be doing this?will it start to dig in to its meal?its been 24 hours so far. the pinkys gonnna start smellin......

My pinktoes do this at Pinkie feeding time. I have no idea why they do this but they always pick it up with their fangs eventually.

i was just about to take the pinky away from the spider wen i noticed that the pinkys slit open a tiny bit but the t's dosent have it in its fangs.im not sure if it just started eating it or if he started a long time ago and put it down and hasnt gotten back to eating it,ill just have to wait and see if it finishes it up.wen do u think the pinky will start going bad,i think that might be soon since its insides are hanging out.its been in the tank for a day.

Take it out, those things stink up real quick. You dont need your spider eating bad meat.

If it's eating, let it eat. Once it stops, take it away.
