i'm thinking about getting a couple tarantula tattoos they'd be placed like on my hip bone area so they wouldn't be super huge i was thinking of using C faciatum (by the way they'd be mirrored by each other one on each side) but i was wanting to look into my options before 100% deciding what tarantula i wanted done i like B smithi's but they're so common in tattoos i wanted something a little more unique but still with color any suggestions?

Any pokie, any Brachy, C.cyaneopubescens, C.elegans, H.lividum, L.violaceopes, E.olivacea, M.balfouri.........

And the list can continue! There are so many colorful species you can get ;)

Edit: If I had to choose one to get done, it would either be H.maculata or P.subfusca

I think to colorful will end up looking to cartoonish. That is why red knees would probably make good tattoos, colorful but they still have that natural colors.

It really takes a good artist to do a tarantula right. Most of them come out looking goofy and 100% white-trash.

Couldn't agree more with that statement!!! I've seen some pretty gross tattoo's... My recommendation is to not get one. Mosts artists (even most good ones) cannot do that kind of work. It takes a real top notch artist to pull that one off.

@synyster i wasn't even thinking C.elegans i think i might like that better for an option than C. faciatum since i like the elegans more distinct little pattern i might end up doing those instead that was a good idea i can see why a lot of people have an allure of arboreals for stuff like that but i'm not too big on arboreals myself they're too leggy looking for what i'm wanting.

@kylestl yeah i agree thats why i wanted something like C faciatum or as synyster so aptly suggested C elegans cause like the smithi's they're earthy with just enough pop of color to make it interesting looking.

@Goomba & 2oCHEVYo0 thats exactly why i'm looking into several artists right now who have done realistic tarantula tattoos i have a friend who got one from one artist i'm looking into it was so realistic he was constantly getting complimented on it i'm definitely planning on doing my research first and wouldn't do it from artist who don't have decent experience with T tattoos and not the goofy ones

Do something awesome like getting a tattoo of a tarantula peeking out of a burrow that it has built in your body. Same concept as the biomechanical tattoos that were popular for a while. Google biomechanical tattoo if you aren't sure what I'm talking about. Here's a link to a cool one. http://www.1000funfacts.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/Biomechanical-Tattoo-Trend.jpg This one isn't exactly bio-mechanical...but should give you the concept that I'm referring too.

You'll probably need to find a really good artist to pull it off. Perhaps one that even specializes in biomechanical. They can get expensive.

well i think i might end up having to look into new artists the artists i was talking to none of them had any past experience with those types of tattoos so i'll just keep looking and in the mean time keep coming up with ideas of exactly how i want it
