Tarantula set up gone wrong?

Ventilation is the key to keep mold issues under control. Springtails, isopods, earthworms... etc will help too. High humidity+stagnant air=99% mold issues.

If you want to make some nice backgrounds, you can use some black PU foam and carve some rocks or caves. You can give some texture bonding some substrate (topsoil) with silicone or "painting" the foam with ultra fine mortar.

For now, let him/her to settle in his/her new enclosure and use that time to borrow some ideas from the vivarium section.
