So i searched around using the “search titles” only option.
it did not quite fit my question.
i have a 4”5 nhandu color that molted over a month ago. I waited until i could see her fangs, and also, that she was moving out of her hide before feeding.
she has eaten a few crickets. Also has been seen on the water bowl.
yesterday, she was hanging on the wall near her hide like she always does.
i was knitting, so i keep looking back and forth to see if i catch behaviors from my tarantulas.
in less then 5 minutes, she was on her back. Just laying there. I thought it curious, no molt mat nothing. I didnt think she’d be ready to molt. It did not add up.
i kept going back and she was there, looking like she had a beer too many. Im still waiting, i know on the back is not how tarantulas usualy die. I regret not getting the photo but its dark and it looked just like a tarantula settling for a molt.
but a few minutes later, she was back in her den.
and thats it.
im not worried, its just, not what i am used to reading or have read about so far.
what are the different reasons it could have been on its back? Other then molting.
shes not a mature female. Shes 4”5 but id say shes leaving the post teen to young adult phase. Her abdomen is not big as it has been in the past.
as for sucking stomach, molt was inspected, but it was torn up, and i couldnt tell if it was there or not.
in the molt pic, the abdomen size is not as big as hers was.
her fangs are intact, pedipalps also, she took two crickets in one hunt and left some tiny bits of boluses. There is poop in hide.
