It's funny, the most surprising people have thought my upcoming acquisition of a tarantula was "cool", so who knows what might be lurking underneath some calm exteriors. Maybe you need to do a demo for the people at work and create your own circle of T friends by spreading the addiction.
My 'pede got (and still rmeains uncaught) out into my house. Whenever my mum gets too cheeky I remind her my lovely centipede is still on the loose. It's got to the point where she thinks I'm jokin, but I'll be the one laughing when I come home to see her crying and sat on the table to hide from it

I think this is somewhat safe - and if people act creepy, you can threaten to sick your most vicious tarantula on them.

Unfortunately I think they send those out the minute anyone signs up. Of course there could be enough people in your area. They could make up the majority of the 17 who signed up.
