tarantula ball

a while back, someone mentioned that their tarantula actually "played" with a ball (or something along those lines). i wrote it off as their tarantula being a cat in a former life until i witnessed my l. parahybana spiderling (around 3") actually taking a clump of dirt and rolling it around the petpal! after all of the exercise, i threw in a cricket and it was immediately devoured.

i wonder if i can "pavlov dog's" train my tarantula into playing with a ball of mud with a cricket as its reward?

actually, now that i think of it, the whole response/reward system is way too diciplined for me to handle. anyone else wanna take a shot?
