How to make tarantula abdomen slimmer without starving your tarantula? My female adult B.albopilosum have obese abdomen... How can I help her get thin abdomen?
That's the same thing as not feeding it...Does feeding only monthly mealworm would fix the problem?
Feed it less often and smaller prey items. It's 2 times bigger than the carapace
If it gets so big that they can't lift it off the floor then they can suffer drag injuries. Not sure why a fat abdomen is a problem. Are you thinking it looks better skinnier?
This about sums it up, even down to the specific sizes. The notable exception would be slings - feed those suckers until they refuse food.If it gets so big that they can't lift it off the floor then they can suffer drag injuries.
I like to keep mine around 1.5 x carapace size.
My juvenile Acanthoscurria geniculata is looking at me with an expression that says, "Feed me like one of your slings."The notable exception would be slings - feed those suckers until they refuse food.
My adult female looks at me like that, when she's not eyeing up my corn snakeMy juvenile Acanthoscurria geniculata is looking at me with an expression that says, "Feed me like one of your slings."
Standard, a fat sling is a happy sling. The notable exception would be slings - feed those suckers until they refuse food.
Are you sure it's the sling you're talking about and not you yourself? My juvenile Acanthoscurria geniculata is looking at me with an expression that says, "Feed me like one of your slings."
Silly troll is sillyYou can gut load a cricket or dubia with a strong laxative. Additionally, you could mix some XTC through the water to speed up the metabolism![]()
Lol careful now. Some newbie is going to google this thread and take you seriouslyYou can gut load a cricket or dubia with a strong laxative. Additionally, you could mix some XTC through the water to speed up the metabolism![]()
That quote looks fine to me. Go find a picture of a non-gravid, obese Theraphosidae in the wild.If it gets so big that they can't lift it off the floor then they can suffer drag injuries.

I often see people like this on Wastebook and it sends my cringe reflex into overdrive.
