I picked up a trio (1.2) of adult Malaysian forest scorpions and would like to house them together. How large of a cage do I need for them? Any suggestions for setup? I was thinking 3-4" soil substrate with bark hides.
Howdy Jenn,
I suggest getting a 50L Sterlite plastic box, drill some holes around the side and use 4-8" of moist peat moss. A common mistake I see is people putting them in 10-20 gallon tanks with a screen type top. That type of top will allow the substrate to dry out very very fast especially this time of year when we all heat our homes. The plastic box will restrict ventilation thus keeping them humid. They do better with temps 80-90F. Many people keep these scorpions too cold and too dry.
