ok i know these guys dont have tibial spurs. but they still have the necessary palpal bulbs (embolus) right? the reason i ask is that i have a 6" T. blondi i bought as an sexed female. im pretty sure its in premolt because it stopped eating almost 3 weeks ago, but ive since began wondering if its doing like my other male t's, some of which stopped eating after their ultimate molts. he/she has been doing alot of climbing, like my other males did (looking for a female?). there are no emboli, and the palps look like "an extra set of smaller legs" with no swelling at the ends.

Hiya,
My little girl, was sexed as a male. When she had her last molt, she was sexed as a female, by Swifty. If yours does molt, send it to Swifty. I know its a pain to wait. You might ask Joy your question. She has several blondis, so would more than likely know.
Peace,
Gillian

Yes, they have very noticeable palpal bulbs as mature males (see picture). It's nice Nature makes it so obvious, since they don't have tibial spurs!

Mature male T. blondi do not have tibial spurs but they do have palpal bulbs. Its pedipalps should have emboli if it were a mature male. The pacing you mention could possibly be a result of an environmental issue ( substrate, moisture, temperature etc.) or possibly nothing at all. Here is a picture of my mature male blondi. The pic could be better but, hopefully you can see the enlarged palps.

I think I speak for all of us when I say you can never have too many pictures of blondi genitalia ;)

You really can't miss them. The seem disproportionately large, even when you take into account the size of the spider.

Has our boy got a pair, or what??

:D :D :D
