Hi,

I just got a Theraphosa Stirmi sling from my local reptile/arachnid breeder. The sling is currently in a small tupperware (which is what she was sold to me in). Of course, I plan on immediately getting a better enclosure for the sling, but I'd love to see some suggestions and hear some good brands. Thanks!

It doesn't really matter what you house it in, it's the conditions you want to get right. They require a few inches of moist substrate and a proper hide, they will almost always burrow if they have what they need to get started. You can use cork bark and dig a crevasse underneath and your T should take to it.

Most importantly you want to have ample ventilation, as they need good moisture levels and without this you end up with a stuffy cage, next step is to feed regularly and keep a nice full water dish available. Some believe they are hard to keep but they have been nothing but easy for me, one of my all time favorite species.
