is it necessary to press down the substrate so it is har or just leave it?

I make it somewhat moist, and pack it down. Not too tight though.
What kind of substrate are you useing? What kind of T are you housing?

I've never used bed a beast. E. longiceps sometimes burrows, so packing the substrate would help, if it does. I've had mine ( E. longiceps ) for about a week now, and it pretty much hangs out next to its hide. Sometimes in the hide. Its in there now. :)

hey roger where are you getting your E. longiceps at?

anyway, is it more active than others or mainly noctournal
