After letting one enclosure stay a little too moist, I'm gonna go ahead and ask this nitpicky question with a picture...

Is this pooling of water a sign that I let the sub get TOO dry before morning this corner, or should I be letting it get this dry? It soaked down to the bottom within a minute or so.

Should I be letting the sub get that dry between watering for my G. pulchra sling too?

Trying to properly calibrate my judgement for "not an Avic type" 😅 and appreciate any advice.

Yes, when dirt goes too long without water it becomes almost hydrophobic, however I can’t comment on avic care, for the G. Pulchra though I always keep the bottom third of the substrate moist

For the irminia they can dry out a bit as long as you don’t let it stay that dry
