oK i really need quick help with this.
My G.pulchra has sealed itself in a burrow (prob premolt sign) and I would rather not disturb it.
But there are water droplet ( caused by damp substrate of course) on the side of the plastic deli cup (its only a sling so don't attack me LOL).
I dont want bacteria to grow in there as s/he is resting in its burrow.
Help?

Droplets of water on the top of the enclosure due to humidity are no issue.

IMO your G. pulchra does not need to be that humid. 60-70% humidity is way more than enough. As a sling just keep the substrate damp but not so wet that you could squish water out of it.

When its older/juvenile age, just make sure it always has a water dish and don't worry so much about the humidity.

PS: mold really isn't that detrimental IME, it just looks bad.

Number of posts is irrelevant, best suggestion is to buyt Tarantula Keepers Guide. Read it and learn by yourself that way you will be able to distinguish between usefull posts and mombo jumbo.

My slings' little deli cups always have water droplets on the sides.

Your baby wll be okay, and will even drink those droplets if thirsty.
You can get mold if there are food leftovers in his home.
Other than that I don't get mold in mine.

Good luck with your baby :)

My bad LOL

But yeah, I heard horror stories about condensation and water droplets on the enclosure walls. I dried it a little by putting that side of the deli cup a bit closer to the heating pad, for as long as it needs to dry out.

Anyway, i took some pictures of the shelves i hold my Ts in.
Critics are more than welcome

my slings sit in vials/deli cups in a large critter keeper with wet paper towels to keep the humidity up in the drier months. It's a Sling Humidor lol

I thank TarantulaHero for the idea...

Any tips on improving their housing? The ventilation seems a little limited i think...

the paper towels are the perforated type, so I take 2 sheets and then lay it over top and put the lid on. Then I take the perforations and make a small slit. Enough for air and evaporation.

Look I dont want to disturb your beautiful discussions here, but at least have some respect towards people who post their ads.

Agree, but again those people are a perfect target to be ignored ;).

Now back to my post: Any critics and/or tips for the care/ shelving T's?
Thanks :)

There is no humidity in my house so I might have to try the humidor for my slings!
