I stumbled upon a copy of Exothermae magazine no.I...which was written/edited by philip charpentier back in 1993 .The journal seems to hold that Stromatopelma is "the link between the relatively harmless mass of theraphosids, and the few species that can be life threatening to man." Of all the bites recorded by him, there is extreme swelling, heart contractions, and serious pain.
