Am I right on the name part?

I know they like to burrow. Mine is pushing substrate to one side
of it's little bowl. =D
I am planning to move it into another set up soon.
It is about 2 inches in size, nose to rump, with small legs.
Would a small critter keeper be too large for it?
And, what would you use for substrate?

I'll post pictures as soon as I can borrow a better camera

I have one. She sweet. Got a nice 7 in. burrow she stays in most of the time. Sometimes she be social, but not always. She a fast one, too....the first day she almost gave me a heart attack when she bolted towards the top of the uncovered tank LoL

If you would like to watch your t build a burrow, I would suggest keeping it for the next couple of molts in a one gallon rubbermaid container, made of clear plastic, which you can purchase at Walmart for $3. Once she attains 4 inches or so you can move her into a larger container.

While she's in the 1 gallon clear plastic container you'll be able to look through and observe her as she digs.

A good way I've found to get them to dig near the edge rather than down the middle where you can't see them, is to place a toilet paper tube on top of the substrate. They may adopt this at first as a hide, but will soon start digging under it. You don't need to bury the tp tube, just lay it on the substrate. Also, leave the sticker with the brand name that comes on the container on the container. Sometimes they'll start to dig near that, as they see it as some sort of shelter. You can fill the substrate, of a peat moss/potting soil mix (75%/25%), up to within a couple inches of the lid. Your little digger will more than likely take advantage!
