I used to collect Jerusalem Crickets in a locale I still live nearby also S. polymorpha in three color morphs, blue, green, and orange.

How does one care for the insects in said topic?

I might go up into the hills and collect some of both where they reside strictly beneath stones. Back then I was turning over stones that probably weighed upwards of 75-100lbs. These hills are entirely surrounded by nearby residential areas.

If I do, and I make a successful bounty and am sure I will. I'd be up to making trades for scorps and true spiders.

House them individually, as they are highly cannibalistic.

They eat roots, so carrots and potatoes are good foodstuffs. I'd try dogfood and a water dish, though.

For breeding, the female digs a burrow nine inches deep or so and then deposits her eggs in that.

I'd keep them moist, they're found under rocks in the wild.

Let me know how it goes, I'm wanting to breed this species, as well.

Of course, this means I have to find stock...
The ones out here in So Cal get huge, like 3-4" in length even larger. I am going to see what turns up on my bug hunt come this weekend if the weather doesn't prevent me. And have heard they are also predaceous probably opportunistic.
