I saw one of these in a pet store today selling as a red trap door tarantula.Is it actually a tarantula or a true spider and does anyone know anything about them.thanks...RICH

Trapdoors are considered true spiders not tarantulas I belive if you could descrive it t will be helpfull.

Trapdoors are *not* true spiders, they are mygalamorphs, the larger group to which the theraphosids (tarantualas) belong. So, it neither a tarantula nor a true spider.

$20 bucks isn't too bad. I just bought one a couple of weeks ago for $15 and I think it looks to be about the same size as yours.
Not quite sure on how long they live or how to sex them though.
Has he made a burrow yet? Once he does you'll probably never see him again. Good thing you got a picture of him, tape it to his tank. LOL!!=D
