t man,
Do you know the scientific name for the T ?
If not, what color is it ?
Starburst baboon is a common name for P. murinus, or Usumbara orange baboon. But it could also be H. maculata, or Togo starburst..
Theres a picture on this site of the P. murinus.. You can do a search of both those names and get pics. and info. by clicking the search buttom at the top of the page, and type in the name.

Here's a pic of my P. murinus who was also sold to me as a "Sunburst Baboon." Before I bought her I went home and looked the spider up on the net to be absolutely sure what she was.
Does yours look like this? She's only 1"

Well, actually it's a Mombasa Golden Starburst....but I bought mine from a pet store, hence the "Starburst Baboon" thing.

you guys this is so cool i woke up this morning and i found out that she had molted durring the night and i had her for only a week now
i gues that was why she wasnt eating

i know this kind is an old world so it is difficult to predict a molt exept when they stop eating and i thought she wasnt eating because she was streest from the moving

ill try to post some pics

returning to my q do any of you guys have info on this spec a care sheet or something-

i was under the assumption that p. murinus referred to the gold/brown colored pterrors.

but mine was sold to me also as a starburst baboon--probably because of the star-shape on the carapace. i suppose name mix-ups are common when dealing with petstores.

What's the difference? It's a common name. A shop on this side of town may call it a "Starburst", one on that side of town may call it "Sunburst", one on the other side may call it a "Orange Fire Eating Baboon". As far as common names go, especially within a genus of which the official species names aren't really well known, (such as Pterinlchilus) common names are pointless to help id a particular sp..
