Springtail slime paths?

I have an older colony of springtails, with LOTS of them and I noticed something odd. The charcoal is covered in some kind of brown slime, and there are some weird little trails. Does anybody know what this stuff is?

I'd guess at either something leaching out of the charcoal or a slime mould.

Looks like organic material buildup to me, from all the things the springtails are breaking down. So yes, poop.
