Lucille, a N. coloratovillosus. She's about 3.5in DLS.

Ichabod, a T. violaceus. Little guy, about 2in DLS.

Moto (means "fire" in Swahili), a subadult female P. Murinus.

Crawlspace, my juvenile female P. cambridgei. She's about 3.25in DLS. I'm always in awe of her amazing camouflage....and her attitude.

Sterling, a juvenile male P. regalis. He tends to be very shy and reclusive.

Dampe, a male A. seemani. He's clearly the king of his coconut, even though he eventually buried it.

My A. seemani, Dampé (Legend of Zelda character), buried his coconut and is sticking his legs out of the little hole, patiently waiting for a cricket. IMG_20200601_212915431.jpg

This is Lucille, my female N. coloratovillosus. CHANGE MY WATER DISH?? HOW DARE YOU! She held this threat posture for 20 minutes after I refilled her water dish. She usually gets defensive like this when she's entering premolt, but she's probably one of the most temperamental tarantulas in my collection, even more so than my OWs. Lucille threat pose.jpg

Some updated pics:

Sterling, about 5in DLS, freshly molted. Sterling is a molt-confirmed female. IMG_20210320_220441908.jpg

Nightshade, a female P. miranda IMG_20210314_161949855.jpg

Lazuli, a juvenile male C. cyanopubescens. IMG_20210312_230236639.jpg

Ichabod, a MM T. violaceus, still going strong after almost a year mature! Here's my little old man enjoying a tasty snack after a period of fasting. IMG_20210404_165738289.jpg

You might have to squint a little, but this is Truckee, a 2i B. boehmei sling. IMG_20210425_171132182.jpg

Speaking of slings, this is Xochitl a B. auratum. Yes....I'm aware that he's chunky. I stopped feeding him a while ago and his abdomen isn't getting any smaller. IMG_20210218_214343378.jpg

Here's Anastasia, an AF G. porteri. She was left behind by her owner when they moved away and I was lucky enough to find her. IMG_20210129_190625607.jpg

Here's Binx, a B. hamorii. She was nice and plump when I got her in November, and she's been in premolt since. I suspect that she'll emerge from her burrow any day now, freshly molted. IMG_20201121_165556715.jpg

Here's Maricopa, an AF A. chalcodes. This was a photo taken of her at the pet store before I brought her home. She's in a much better setup now. IMG_20201031_154139410.jpg

My pride and joy, Crawlspace, a female P. cambridgei. She was about 2.5 inches when I bought her, now 2 years later, she's a solid 6in. She even laid a phantom egg sac at one point.

This is Ziplock, the legendary drain spider! He matured in February. He was rehoused into a more appropriate enclosure shortly after this was taken. He gained a huge amount of size with his ultimate molt and has been making sperm webs every few days. He's a Chilobrachys huahini, and has some serious attitude. IMG_20210423_234721260.jpg

Verdugo, a juvenile male L. klugi. Eats anything and everything. IMG_20210119_194955509.jpg

Ursula, a juvenile female Cyriopagopus sp. hati hati. She's very reclusive, and I've only seen her a handful of times.

Here's Carmen, an AF P. auratus, looking gorgeous after a recent molt. IMG_20210410_211303125.jpg

Nice collection, Crawlspace is my favorite. I missed the opportunity to tell you how very sorry I am about your versi. Are you going to get another one?

I'm not sure. Maybe eventually but for now I think I'm going to try a few other species. She was a gorgeous tarantula but it really sucked losing her so unexpectedly.

Look closely. Can you find a spider? Jumanji, my juvenile female S. calceatum, just molted and has started showing some hints of adult coloration. I'm in awe of her camouflage and find it incredibly beautiful. IMG_20210505_211512091.jpg

Meet Calypso, a juvenile female H. maculata that I picked up at a reptile expo on Sunday. She's been coming out regularly at night to explore. IMG_20210503_221906040~2.jpg IMG_20210505_211327286.jpg

Ichabod is looking very photogenic today! He's been mature for almost a year now and is still going strong! IMG_20210430_194428213.jpg

Lenore, a juvenile female P. irminia, right after I got her from the reptile expo. She's a very shy, reclusive spider. Immediately hid behind the cork bark in her new enclosure and is still in a stress curl, although she's been webbing a lot. She ate a few crickets though! Ravenously hungry. I think it'll take her a while longer to settle into her new home. IMG_20210502_160038698.jpg

It took a minute, but I found Jumanji! Calypso is stunning, and has a great name too!

Grizzly, a juvenile female T. albopilosus is looking sharp after she molted yesterday. One thing that surprised me was how much her coloration changed. Her setae have more a of a red-orange tinge to them than I was expecting (difficult to see in the photo). IMG_20210602_213043309~2.jpg

I picked up this little guy yesterday. A bit of an impulse buy, but I don't regret it. It's a P. sazimai sling, and probably the smallest sling I've ever purchased. If I had to guess, it's less that 1/4in. Healthy, plump, and eating so far. I'm going to rehouse him/ her into a smaller dram vial. The tiny sling enclosure he came with is still much too large. You might really have to squint to see this tiny spiderling. IMG_20210602_213021333~2.jpg

Nightshade (P. miranda) finally emerged from her den after a recent molt. IMG_20210602_205505353~2.jpg

Dampé, the gravedigger, is very proud of his burrow! IMG_20210530_002205004.jpg

Alas, not the best photo since I only have a crappy phone camera. Ursula (juvenile female Cyriopagopus sp. hati hati), is by far my most reclusive tarantula. I often see her legs sticking out of her burrow at night, but it's really rare to see her out and about. I snatched my camera and tried my best to get a photo before she bolted into her burrow again. Moto ( MM P. murinus) is an old man, but now that temperatures are soaring, he comes out every night, still looking for a female. IMG_20210619_220412093.jpg

Carmen (AF P. auratus) always puts one of her legs up against the glass, making it look like she's waving hello. IMG_20210627_181814656.jpg

Crawlspace is always taking a stroll in the evening hours. She's getting huge, nearly 6in DLS. Next year, I'm contemplating possibly breeding her. She laid a phantom egg sac a few months ago. IMG_20210624_220354340.jpg

Verdugo (juvenile male L. klugi) molted recently. He stays in his burrow most of the time, but sometimes emerges at night to hunt. I love his fluffy legs. IMG_20210620_141425684~2.jpg

Meet Gargola, my female Phormictopus sp. Dominican purple. I've never encountered a sling with such a ravenous appetite. She'll go after anything that moves without hesitation, unless she's in premolt. IMG_20210624_201500063.jpg

I know it's not the best photo, but I thought it was cute. This is Scarlet, a juvenile female B. emilia that I recently picked up. IMG_20210624_201123307~2.jpg

Here's a better picture of Scarlet, right after I brought her home. IMG_20210609_205917859.jpg

Here's Mari (subadult female A. chalcodes) after a recent molt. I think her fluffy legs are adorable. She's a real sweeheart, probably the calmest and most docile T that I have. IMG_20210626_195126717.jpg

Just a big brown spider you say?? Nah. She's gorgeous. Here's Prisca, relaxing and grooming herself. IMG_20210815_100905812~2.jpg

Meet Ripley, an AF C. marshalli that I picked up a few days ago. 3820883242642033201.jpg

Scarlet molted recently! She didn't gain much size, but her colors are really starting to show. She's such a calm, docile spider. It makes me happy knowing that I'll have her around for decades to come. IMG_20210812_201622237~2.jpg

Lenore finally decided to come out for an evening stroll after weeks of hiding. She's my most reclusive spider. IMG_20210619_201437997~2.jpg
