I found this spider outside in my yard. Could someone identify her for me, please?

Looks like a Lycosid to me. I can't go beyond that though. Maybe someone with better knowledge on this species can help you.

I'd guess Hogna georgicola, a Lycosid as stated by Novak.

Where are you at exactly? georgicola is fairly common in the Eastern US.

Here is a pic of one I have......a H. georgicola that is

Keli and I are both in Eastern North Carolina.
And I need her to start taking pictures of my spiders for me...

I agree it is Hogna georgicola. I find them here in central NC in the woods close to burrows that often use natural crevices made by tree roots.

Nice spiders. Reach about 2" legspan. Last time I was out in the woods, there were several wandering around with packs of spiderlings on board.

They have a nice mottled, rust colored ventral abdomen.

What should I do with the eggsac? I really don't have the room (or experience) for babies. Would it stress her out if she was without the eggsac?

Also, thanks for the identification :)

lycosid maternal care

I would not remove egg case, allow babies to mature on the mothers back and maybe release unharmed spider and egg case outdoors for best results. Cheers, Tom
