Spider ID wanted.

This is on a second hand description -someone Telling me- and I'd like a latin name or even a commen name to figure out what he is talking about. Help is greatly appreciated.

" couldn't tell you the latin name but the Banana Spiders that I saw were HUGE. Hairless carapace (I don't know if thats the proper term for their body) that is shiny and black. They got the moniker 'Banana' from two yellow curved stripes on their spider bums. They built huge webs. The largest I saw was over twelve feet in height and probably six or seven feet wide. Their bite was poisionous but not terribly so. I've never heard of them venturing into any houses."


I believe this is Japan/china local, I'm thinking the More commen one I see in the pet trade everynow and then up here. P nigera or something like that. *thwaps his memory* I did some digging and cant find any recent threads on em*

don't know about china, but that's a "banana spider" from like, georgia, stateside

nigriventer, fera, boliviensis and like 5 others come from colombia/south america

actually, i don't think either of my guesses are right. i can match part of the desc. but not all of it
