Hello,

I was recently taking a walk down my nature pathway in Lefkada, Greece and notices this beauty. I couldnt get the best photos but I did what I could with my phone.

Its a black spider with white marks on its back, where the white marks are its body seems to be slightly elevated (if that makes sense). In simple terms its body was lumpy

Its web was almost bowl shaped at the bottom and the spider was upside down on the web.

If you can help that would be great, i just want to make sure it is okay around the family and not to harm them.

Thanks.

Try putting something in the phones field of view that is easy for it to focus on. Hold your hand up, a playing card, anything like that which is about the same distance as the subject from the camera.

The web and look of the spider looks like Mecynogea lemniscata but those are here in America, I am not sure what species are in Greece.
