I don't think I should post this in bite report as I have no idea what bit me. But I'm new at this entire message board thing so bare with me?

Alright, this happened in Pointe-a-la-croix, Quebec which is situated about an hour or so from Rimouski, Quebec. I was rolling around in a field [don't ask, playing with a puppy], the field mostly dry hay and the whatnot, when I felt something almost burning on my back. So I stopped, and rolled back around and i believe I saw a little spider, went inside the house [more so like ran], and asked my friend to look at my back.

I don't have a picture of the bite or the spider itself, but from what I can tell you is :

The bite burned like I've never felt burning before.
The bite itself was red, and kind of looked like a burn.
The area around the bite was swollen, and it was roughly pea sized.
The spider was brown and not that big.
The burning stopped an hour or two later, and I just felt discomfort whenever I directly touched it or layed on back.

What kind of spider bite does this sound like?

I officially feel stupid now but hey. : )

There's a number of insects, spiders or other little creatures that can defend themselves (cause you pain or irritation). They aren't famous, like black widows, because they don't do more than the pain or irritation. It could have been a lot of things. A spider in a field, brown? A wolf spider could fit that and they have fangs big enough to pierce human skin and their venom can certainly cause pain, ranging by individual reactions. Just because you saw the spider, though, doesn't mean it was THE creature that bit or stung you. Could have been one of the other critters capable of such, but you just didn't see it. Centipede? Some ants? Anyway, I hope it doesn't deter you from playing with the puppy any more than if you had rolled on a stick wrong and you got a bad poke through the skin....
