south american fishing spider

has anyone ever kept a south american fishing spider i have the oportunity to buy one and they sound amazing diving under water to catch food any tips on houseing

hmm

are u talkin' bout Dolomedes sp? I'll try to catch one tomorrow when I go fishing with my father.There are many swamps here in brazil that they are easily caught

How would you set one of those guys up? In an aquarium with just water and aquatic plants?

I got a juv, and i'll hunt a male to climb her soon xD

I'm setting up the aqua-terrarium, with a (i don't know this in english, so ill call as in brazil: "Isopor") as an floating island, and ill put artificial plants and grass on it... in the subwater floor I put some aquarium stones, i think it is cool

Usually the spiders marketed as "south american fishing spiders" are ancylometes, which are only distant relatives to dolomedes and quite a bit larger.

Search "ancylometes" in this forum and you'll get a lot of information.
