Got a trio of Sicarius yesterday, looking like 1.1.1, hopefully 1.2.

Sorry for the bad pics, limited to using my iPhone at the moment. I'm also including a few pics of slings I raised a few years ago. All sp. "Chile".

Any breeding tips welcome, I'm going to keep the suspected females warmer and feed more.

Awesome! I hope my Sicarius grows up to look like those!

I find that my Sicarius is surprisingly active. It buries itself all the time and then after about 48 hours it is running everywhere for no reason. Especially at night. Was this common with your slings?

Man if they are creepy with those six eyes. I have a lot of their 'cousins' (L.rufescens) living as perfect 'Swag' tramps in my garage and cellar.
Sometimes I love to throw them a cricket from my T's reserve just for renew my utmost Biblical alliance with them: no one bites no one.

My 2 are out and about every night. Then by the morning they're buried again.

Creepy? No. Stunning.

Oddly enough, one of the reasons I enjoy Sicarius and Loxosceles so much is their eye pattern. It's just so different. Kind of like myself, I suppose.

I love watching videos of this species. They almost seem gentle with their prey, at first I was like, did it bite it already? But then I would see the prey moving frantically, and I knew. Of course, you can be as gentle as you wish with venom like that. I love their look. But I'll stick to videos :)

Need to keep in mind the native environment of Sic is HOSTILE. Out and about during the day = predator snack.

Oh it was just what was available at the time. I can find a female later.

I've heard possibly 10 years lifespan.
A mature male lives for 10 years!?
Man..that is SO unfair! Nice going Mother Nature....creating a goodlooking spider that is easy in maintenance and lives for 10 years. And then adding killer-venom. :shifty:

Don't let their venom put you off. They're extremely easy and safe to care for.
