Some Q's about Phormictopus

Hi guys! It's been pretty long since I registered in arachnoboards

but didn't have a chance to write single thread. Guess this would be

my first thread in here, heh heh..

My name is Anthony Park, I'm SLC, but I'm originally from South Korea.

There have been some debates and discussions about genus Phormictopus

sold in South Korea and I would really appreciate it if some of you could

tell me the scientific names of the tarantulas below. Thanks for reading

this.


ps. by the way, ll of these are considered to be Phormictopus in S. Korea but

I'm not sure whether it's true or not...cause i hate common names...haha


1. under the name(common name) of D.R. Steely Blue

2. under the name of Haitian Brown Birdeater

3. under the name of Dominican Haitian Brown Birdeater

Phormictopus cancerides (Haitian Brown)

The first pics did not show up. The two pic under number two are two differant T's and the third one is just a sling of the first picture under number two. If that is what you say it is but I'm not so sure.

I am sure of number three.

the steely blue is Pamphobeteus antinous

You have these under the same common name above but they are not the same. Not sure what they are.

There is no difference between these two names.

Like I said above. All I know for sure is that the 3 picture is a Haitian Brown spiderling. Phormictopus cancerides

I cannot understand either about selling the same species in two different

categories..lol

And thank you for telling me that Steely blue was genus Pamphobeteus,

not Phormictopus. Cause I haven't realized that Steely blue was another

common name for Bolivian Bluelegs...I think Korean dealers are selling Bolivian

Bluelegs and Steely blue separately which is not right....I think...

the first two pics definately do look like a phormictopus, but ui cant help no more than that, iv only got a Phormictopus 'purple'.

Really intersting spiders tho... grats

hmm...really?? If those two pics are phormictopus, not pamphobeteus..

What exact species of Phormictopus would those be? Anyone have any ideas?
