Interesting mantid. Ah, doesn't matter, dark or not. So what is that, a Chinese? I haven't raised mantids until this year. Some kind of Stagmomantis sp from an ootheca I came across. I kept about 10, one molted tonight. Ooth pretty big, I prob wouldn't have grabbed it if not for that. I'm having to keep an eye on them more than pedes, T's or scorps go, their cycle is kind of like beetles and caterpillars ...and a lot of other stuff:eek: . So what's the story behind that diddly?

Cute critter. I had forgotten one about 15 years ago. Long after I had forgotten it and shortly after it hatched (I left it on the enclosed front porch over the winter in a potted plant) my landlord showed up for one of those uncomfortable surprise visits just to see how things were with the apartment. Just when I let him in I noticed movement out of the corner of my eye. he noticed the 100 or so new babies crawling up the curtains and plants too. Luckily we were already in the process of moving {D
