So, I got a Tokay Gecko

A new Pet Supermarket opened up near me, so I thought I'd go check it out. I'm broke, and didn't take money, but wanted to see if they had feeders for later.

A lady was talking to the clerk, trying to get her to take a Tokay Gecko that her boyfriend purchased for her at a recent reptile show. He thought it was pretty, they had no idea the it was a mean beast. lol The Pet Supermarket clerk was refusing to take the gecko, and the lady was really aggravated. That's when I opened my big mouth and said I'd take the lizard. lol

SO, I got a free alleged female Tokay. She's cute as can be, but is definitely a bitey thing. lol The lady wanted to keep her cage to get a crested gecko, so another clerk transferred the Tokay into a box for me...he got a nasty bite because he had no idea what he was doing.

Anyway, here she is:

Ugh, I don't have any idea what the animal count is right now. It's not INSANE like some people on here, lol. I guess a rough estimate would be about 200.

I had a nasty run in with a Tokay a few years back. It was at a friend's house and got out of it's enclosure. I tried to get it to put it back in, and it BARKED at me! No one told me Tokays can BARK! It scared the hell out of me! SO I have an irrational phobia of Tokays now. But she is beautiful.

Tokay's are awesome! I had one when I was younger. I caught it with my dad when I used to live in Tx. The thing was louder than heck, I'm assuming it was a male. Congrats on the sweet free addition.

Yeah, she's really cool. Very "hands off" but I am not concerned about that. heh She is so active and fun to watch! I'm glad to have her for sure.

The clerk was a trooper. He didn't say anything. I wasn't even sure he'd gotten bitten at first, until I noticed the blood dripping off of his hand.

Nah, there are plenty of people here with a LOT more than 200 animals. lol They all fit neatly in my room, well, except the horse.

Maybe I';m masoschistic but I've always wanted to grab one of these just to see how bad it really is. With the huge muscles and the size of the head they've got to mean business!

thats a beautiful looking girl you have there, looks like shes only quite young, i remember when i got bitten for the first time by my tokay she was trying to run out of the tank when i was cleaning it and i (stupidly) put my hand infront of her and she grabbed hold of my knuckle on the pointy finger and really started to twist and turn, so i just put my hand into the tank with her still attached to my knuckle twisted to and fro, so i put her on a cork branch in her tank and waited for her to let go, shee did after about 2 minutes lol, my knuckle looked a right mess, with blood dripping everywhere, but in my opinion a bite doesnt hurt that much (even on the wrist), and like i said thats a BEAUTIFUL LOOKING GIRL YOU GOT THERE
