Smoking scorpions venom

I'm not buying this. Lets think this through a little bit.

Venoms are toxic when injected into the blood stream; poisons are toxic when ingested or inhaled (for the most part anyway). As long as you don't have an open wound anywhere in your mouth, throat, or stomach you could drink venom and not get sick. Not sure about inhaling it because the extreme heat may very well render the venom inert.

The video states that these people are grounding up the whole scorpion and smoking them with tobacco or hash. Sounds like they are smoking more than just venom to me since they are not actually isolating the venom from the scorpions. What other compounds are found within a scorpion's body that could cause the symptoms of a high when burned and inhaled? Are we really going to ignore the part about smoking the scorpion with hash? Maybe I could get the same effects if I go outside and ground up some random bugs and smoke it with my Camel cigarettes. LOL

I have mixed lavender into cannabis joints in the past, changes the flavour but has no noticeable psychoactive effects.

N yes it would have been the hash not the scorp they mix the resin will alsorts of strange stuff now a days to make you even more smashed and/or bulk it out.
My brother studies it , melted plastic n rubber from wheels are big ones, he even had some that came bk as opiates . Never touched hash since

This thread is bonkers. Like the others by this person. There is little actual scientific interest and it seems mostly about idiots talking idiocracy. Without even BASIC precautions and thought processes. Which is sad because this topic is interesting and worthy of conversation. But no one that serious is going to share too much here because it seems more like teenagers on tiktok. There is already info on this topic. Amongst other orders of animals as well.

I have some published accounts I can share if there is another thread with mature adults discussing the science, not this type of fluff. Until then, like the venom potency type threads, it's just about attention and the "cool" factor, at least that is how it very much reads. Threads that teach the public, and authorities, that even the best online resource doesn't contain a mature enough society to allow further freedoms to keep them are counter productive. Maybe a private forum is warranted for irresponsible/selfish threads to run their course? I love the topic but find the way people behave about this stuff beyond cringey. I no longer blame heavy handed government regulation. We get what we deserve, breaks my heart to be forced to realize this fact

For the record, the issue isn't about drugs, narcotics, psychedelics etc. It's about the maturity/responsibility of the conversation and wording and the clear disregard for the animals and total love for attention and reality show level circus acts. Quite alarming!

Yes it is! I think that's why non of us took it seriously. No person in their right mind would do that really, edge Lords and serious addicts that's about it.
As for the the poor animals theirselfs, I don't want to think about the stupidity, I love all inverts and the thought of someone hurting or killing one in the name of a buzz is truly horrifying. I think people are joking about it because how else do you react to such a stupid idea.
If we laugh it stays a stupid idea if we talk about facts it becomes alot more real , more people think its a serious idea ie more stupid ppl try it.
Maybe you should start a separate thread about the effects of scorp venom on the human body and link it on here so any silly person seriously considering this can see exactly what will happen if they put the venom in their lungs or anywhere else .
I am not educated at all and I dont even keep scorps and never have so I would have no idea where to start with a thread like that, but you know your stuff clearly so maybe you could start one

That's the thing with humor it's a venn diagram. On the left you have too real and too dark and on the right you have just ridiculousness. Humor is what connects them in the middle; the farther left you move the center the darker your humor becomes, and if to the right it becomes much more light hearted. It's all about finding balance and that's why people have different senses of humor with different friends and family.

Indeed. My issue is the original post. And other posts by the same user talking about stinging themselves, with very dangerous species, for fun. This is what is alarming. Frankly, it's crazy!

Given that alone, I am in no rush to post about narcotic effects of any animals, albeit truly fascinating and something I have studied a lot and is part of my current work in ethno medicine. The maturity of the poster, the clear narcissism and attention grabbing is what makes me feel this type of insanity really just reflects poorly on the entire hobby and gives more ammo to those that want to ban it. It is no different than the children smoking Salvia on YouTube. South Park type shows joke about these types of irresponsible people.

It's all fun and games until it involves innocent animals, species bands, dead or injured people etc. Ridiculous is the most appropriate word to describe this logic.

People on this forum already complained. About government intervention on keeping certain let's. This type of crap is exactly what gets us more of it
