Just checking to see if one of these products is good for isopod enclosures, or are there chemicals/dangers in the way they are processed? I have some from a product called Cameron's Alder Smoker Wood Chips.

@Aquarimax and @Elytra and Antenna, I'm curious about your opinions.

Thank you!

Just as @Elytra and Antenna said, I have tried different types with no issues. My favorites are the alder and oak pellets. I learned from @mickiem to soak them...they dissolve into moist sawdust, which decomposes relatively quickly into edible material for the isopods.

The lignin of the wood itself as a binder=good. Formaldehyde glue binder=not so much. Since both can be water soluble it's hard to tell the difference. Being familiar with the odors is the quickest way to tell.

Particle board industries sometimes sell bad batch and imperfect urea formaldehyde glue products as fuel.
