Hello out there :)

Couple days ago i got a subadult pair of Smeringurus vachoni and am kinda confused... The breeder told me, that i can keep them together without problems as soon as they are adult. On the interwebs i can find literally nothing about it. Maybe some of you know?

Also, how do I verify the gender in this species?

A wonderful day/night to you guys :) 20190929_010358.jpg

They are not communal. They are even difficult to breed, as they are defensive towards one another. This is because they have a very strong feeding response.

Smeringurus are the easiest scorpions to sex, esp vachoni. Males have huge swollen claws and longer tails while females look "normal". And the pectine difference is huge. yours is female

swollen claws are not how you sex vachoni as both male nd female have enlarged palps. you must look for a gap in the chelal fingers when closed. in males, there's a gap, in females, the fingers close flush
