I was watching a show last night called "Rat Genius", and they talked about how rats can sniff out diseases in humans, sniff out landmines, and also are excellent swimmers (I knew that already) They also had a segment when a rat came from the sewer and into a womens toilet bowl while she was going, lol! Even showed a huge rat follow a guy around like a dog! (it was his pet)

Here is a description of it, I saw it on National Geographic channel.

I watched that show too. I found it interesting. Especially the part where they said that rats make a map in their minds, and play it back in their mind to remember how they got to where they are.

Yeah they showed the "map" on a screen, and how it was the same when the rat was learning the pattern, it was cool. Also hearing the rat calls was cool too, how they alert the others to danger.

I had a pet rat that had been used in research in rat intelligence tests.
She would come to her name and a person tapping on the ground.
I stupidly let her outside one day, and an hour later tapped and called her. She came running.

Ywp, they are smart little guys. Mine are potty trained, come when I call them, follow me around until I give them food, and give me kisses i I say "Kisseys!". I have to see this show.

I have to agree with everyone here... Ratties are very smart kids :D

My Poodah boy comes when I call him and so does Tiff. Taff and the babies are learning now, too. Poodah gives kisses and is the best RoDentist ever... you don't even need novacaine {D

What amazes me with the little kids... now 4 weeks and separated... is that they "know" when I "eep" at them that they are hurting me or biting too hard and they stop immediately and look at my face.

A couple more weeks and I'll be working on team sports... Rattie style  and when all the girls are spayed, I can maybe get them to play some Rattie basketball or volleyball or something. {D
