Slings and molts

Tarantulas will molt whenever they're ready. Molting frequency is something that has a lot of variability and there are a lot of factors that can affect grwoth rates. Tarantulas molt less frequently as they approach adult or mature sizes. So in general, frequency of growth rate isn't really too important if you're trying to figure out when or how often they will molt as there are way too many factors involved.

My pulchra sling also has molted twice with me, 79 days in between. This species grows slower than many others.

Your experience is well within the range that is normal.

Yes- molting varies in captivity due to the T owners primarily.

It’s not normal or un-normal, it just is! It’s always nice when they molt on the quicker end of the spectrum, especially when genera like Grammostola can go into particularly long molt cycles albeit not that long as very small slings compared to more adult range sizes.
