I have new slings maybe a 1/4 inch long....i put pinheads in there and they run away...i also ripped the back legs of them too so they dont jump...but still the sling wont eat...is this usual thing for slings this big....or do i have to worry...

The prey item is probably scaring it.. Just offer your slings prekilled food..
It will find the food & eat it.. :)

Or.. It could be a sign of premolt.. And you dont want live crickets in your enclosure if it is.. So.. Prekilling offers that protection as well.. :)

Not unusual, and somewhat frustrating. Some will eat when they get hungry and some won't.

I have been sucessful with crushing their heads and the T's will eventually eat.

so far, ime, my tiniest slings have been the shy eaters. i agree with everything said so far, just kill and maybe mangle the cricket into bits that are more manageable for the sling. this has worked very well so far for my pulchripes, euathlus and now LP (who is the size of your sling).

if it wants to eat, it will. check in 24 hours and throw out whatever it didn't touch.
