Or am I just worrying too much again?

Bungee, my 3/4 avic. geroldi sling is coming up on his one week anniversary in my house. I've decided not to worry about his lack of appetite as his fuzzy little bum isn't getting any smaller yet, but he doesn't appear to be pooping.

His delicup is kept humid but not sopping, and he has a nice web building up. But there doesn't seem to be any poop on the walls, or substrate, or in his web. He hasn't even squirted on me when he's been walking and there's a few times when he got spooked and probably ought to have.

Of course maybe since he is such a small sling the dirt isn't noticeable until it builds up for awhile on the walls. His cup doesn't stink at all.

So, more experienced sling people, do you notice if a sling poops if it isn't pooping on/at you? :?

well, you've got one thing right: I think you're worrying a bit too much ;)

But it's ok, since, at some point, we all used to do that. No big deal. But definitley no need to worry. Even if it goes 22 days without eating, its ok. Make sure they've got sufficient water/humidity, and just keep trying.

they'll eventually start eating... trust me :) Its only normal to worry with the first one, and i'm just joshing you.

let the T get acclimated and calmed down from the shipping process, and all will turn to normal.

glad you like the little bugger! Just wait untill its 4 inches...you won't be having this problem at all. enjoy the relative clean-ness now ;P

good luck
peace

I guess I expected him to de-stress sooner since he wasn't really shipped - he just had a 2 hour car ride.

It takes a bit of time before tiny sling poop builds up to where I notice it, I'd stop worrying so much. Besides, it's not as though you can load a small cricket with ex-lax and feed it to it if it were stopped up :)
