Hey I have these 2 frogs unsure of what kind, they were a gift. They came in a little cube with water and some bamboo (They were purchased at a hallmark store? lol) Well today while feeding I noticed one of them had this thin layer of somthing coming off of him. I'm not sure if it was mold or if he is shedding his skin. Do frogs shed their skin? It was coming off of like all over him in long pieces, one of the other frogs was eating it too lol. So I think it's shed skin but I'm just making sure.

PS here are pictures of the frogs (without the layer of stuff) an identification would be nice if possible!

Those are African dwarf frogs, and yes they can shed. They will also eat it.

Also, you really should consider putting them in a new tank, those cubes are completely inadaquate. There was a petition out about those things, I'm surprised they still sell them. Not trying to be mean, just some friendly advice.

Alright Yeah I was thinking about how it may be not right, Can they be in a 10 gallon with a filter and decorations for hiding and everything? Also could they be put with like 2 snails and one of those sucker fish?

Check this out: http://clawedfrogs.tripod.com/id15.html and that should get you started. I used to keep African Clawed Frogs but care is close to the same for the Dwarf ones.

As for your questions, Yes a 10 gallon would be fine, a filter will be good too, just make sure the current is not too strong. For decorations, some wood, rocks and live plants would be wonderful. Just be sure the wood and rocks are the type that is safe for fish. They should do fine with snails, but only if they are large, they may eat small ones. A bristlenose pleco or rubberlip pleco should be ok with the frogs, they dont get big and are not agressive. Just be sure that you dont overstock the 10 gallon. Do normal water testing like with fish. I would suggest you stick with the frogs maybe add a snail or 2, but you really dont need them.

I have some good amphibian books I am going to sell, message me if you are interested.
