Signs of overcrowding...roaches

What are some signs of overcrowding in roaches?

I know in flying species (Blattella), you will get the mass migrations of them, but this probably doesn't fit the scheme for the non-flyers.

I think they only chew each other wings when there is lack of protein in their food

More a lack of moisture.
They do need to be split up once the enclosure gets tight.
