Hi. I'm sorry for bothering anyone with questions, but I'm a beginner tarantula owner and I just got a 4" female Aphonopelma seemani yesterday. Just now as I was passing by her home, I noticed a small black patch on her leg. Could this possibly be a sign of her getting ready to molt? Any responses would be appreciated of what signs I should look for when she's getting ready to molt and what I should do to make her molt successful. Also, any tips you'd be willing to give me about taking care of my new tarantula. Thanks. :)

I apologize. I thought the black patch was on her front leg, it's actually on her left pedipalp.

there is more to look for than a dark patch (which is normally on the abdomen).
loss of appetite, like not eating for weeks after normally eating one or two crix a week and look for a 'molt mat', the T will literally spin a 'web bed' to lay on

you might also try using the search feature here in the upper right
try something like upcoming molt or signs of molting
you'll probably get more info than you know what to do with
