Should my Pallidus sp. still be sleeping?

Hi,

I got a Pallidus sp. from a reptile expo in Tucson. He is still in his cave for 24 hrs a day. Is this normal? I woke him up a few weeks ago because I was worried. He was active for an hour, but then he started working on a new den. What action should I take?

Exactly how long ago did you get him? If it was just a few weeks ago, he is probably just settling in. If it is much longer, maybe he is just quite timid. Is he feeding well?

I got him somewhere in the beginning of Oct. He hasn't eaten much since then, as he has been sleeping in his hole. I put a few roaches and some other foods, I even tried a small lizard, but he rejected the lizard and the roaches. the caterpillars I put in there disappeared, so I assume he ate them.
