Should I get mealworms or millipedes?

I am thinking about purchasing a pet invertebrate, and my top two picks are mealworms and millipedes. I am wondering what is better. I want something fun but not too hard and won't die on me. I also have a pretty limited amount of money. The species of millipede I was thinking about is Chicobolus spinigerus, although if there are better species, please let me know.

Thanks.

I am loving my mealworms. They are like pet Dune worms. If you get atleast 500, which shouldnt cost much, you should see some results within 3 months.

they are really fun and easy to maintain. Im not doing a big scale thing yet. Just started with 50, to see if i could keep them alive. Today, i saw many of them with tops and ends just sticking out.

Mealworms are super easy but don’t start out with too many you might get swamped I got a few hundred.
millipedes are more maintenance but pretty cool too . It’s a toss up.

With any feeder, the keys are respect and dryness.

I keep my worms in wheat bran and cornmeal. I dump a pinch of quick oat flakes.

I put a few carrots.

Yesterday i gave them some organic spinach to see how that goes.

I have two cut toilet paper roll halves in there.

I do get a dead one everyday. But im
Choosing to accept that.

They are good to me: the dead are brought up.

I will also add soybean flour when i gwt a hand on the organic stuff. Just for fun.

I am getting good results i think. “I THINK”. I am still studying them.

I need to add, i spend a lot of time on my feeders. I dont have many tarantulas and i want to monitor mites. So i spend a lot if time cleaning my crickets and worms. I treat them like my tarantulas.

I've recently been breeding mealworms as feeders. It was really interesting seeing them go through the first reproductive cycle, but after that got a bit boring. I have enjoyed keeping millipedes, mixing the substrate and setting up a pretty tank for them was fun and you can watch them exploring and eating. Unfortunately most for sale are wild caught, and I prefer to buy only captive bred inverts.

Aquarimax Pets on YouTube has some good videos on millipedes and inverts in general.
