I noticed some shinyness on my avics butt that wasnt there last week

anyone know what it is or if its common? I think the brownish stuff you see is substrait that was on there but i just noticed the silverly color a few days ago

i can't see your pic at work, but i suspect you are seeing reflection/refraction off the surface of urticating setae

Dan, she might have done some kicking and her hairs be a little thinner there. Don't worry, after she moults, her abdomen will look furry again. It also could be a sign of an upcoming moult. On a lot of my T's the abdomen will get shiny and the hairs will thin.

i find the two tannish/orangeish "nuclei" to be interesting.

doesn't look like the setae thing that i was thinking of, now that i can see it

are you talking about the 2 little spots on the shiny part? Im pretty sure thats just some if its coco fiber substrait, because she has more on there but most of it is off now. Thanks for the replys

How long have you had the T? Was it there when you got it?

Hmm try getting a wet Q-tip and wiping it off. I have a feeling it's dry T poo.

yeah, seems like normal kicking baldness. it should grow back soon. but i would try q-tipping that stuff on the back to see what it is.
