Something I've heard on my travels through the internet is that "true spiders" can be sexed ventrally more easily than theraphosidae. Something about a little black dot on the females underside? Is there any truth to this?

From what I have seen in this board it depends on the species. Though I believe ventral may be more accurate for most. I know nothing of little black dots. Besides, a little black dot would be very hard to see on a black spider.

I think the word I was looking for was epigyne. I just couldn't think of it
It would be hard to spot on a black spider
