I didnt realize asking for a photo with better lighting was saying I am a pro at vent sexing..

But hey.. If it means anything.. I would guess male to.....

On a side note.. It is never a 100% garuntee with vent sexing.. Best way to tell is with a molt.. Im sure you already knew that though.. I just thought I would state it..

from the first pic to the last, I would say male is a pretty good bet.

Hey Joe..
This regalis is just short of 5".
Its been a slow grower and it's molts have been completely destroyed everytime. (in that section anyway)

Is this good enough?
Don't think so but remembered I had this shot.
(It's a tad older {last molt} but it's dorsal)

If it's not I'll try to get one this wknd...
it really is a miracle to ever see it out & about.

Dorsally I'm with Joe.
Ventrally, I'm saying female. In My Experience with Poecilotheria, females at that size epigastric furrow is pronounced. I see what I would say is a pronounced furrow. I have not owned 100's of them or even all of the species, but it is something I have noticed and been correct with my spiders and here on AB looking at others pics.

Let us know the outcome when you can definitively tell the sex via exuvia.

I say female as well. Venterally, a male regalis also has a small tan dot just above the tan strip at the base of the arch.

Dorsally, that's female.
Hey Joe Joe, can you explain dorsal sexing to me? I tried digging in search and found a couple threads that was mostly argument based.

Thanks bud!

Here is a little info about it;

Just remember the method does not work with all pokes, on metallica it i slmost impossible to sex them dorsally. But on most pokes you can sex them dorsally. But not before the get to juvie size, until then, it have to be by exuvium or ventrally.
