It is not a Pandinus spp. I also believe it is a Heterometrus spp. I would say it is a male.

Doesen't look like any Heterometrus spp. i've seen before. But I'm not really into non-Buthid scorpions, so you shouldn't rely on my opinion.

It's a Heterometrus sp.
It's not a laoticus or petersii, if it's a longimanus it's a female and not a male
That's really all I can tell off the bat.
If I had to guess I would just say a dark form H. spinifer.

My hunch is that it is not an adult yet, Heterometrus can take some years to mature. There can only be guesses right now from these pics and esp. if it's immature. I wouldn't rule out petersii if it's not mature, chela of petersii have that basic shape when they are young. How long is it? Can you post a pic of it next to something for size reference?

I think it is not an immature Heterometrus, judging from the habitus, granulation on the dorsal side of the chela, location of the median eyes, the shape of the tergites and some other features. I think this is an adult female Euscorpiops sp. . This is not a guess or hunch, I am reasonably sure....

I agree it does looks like a Scorpiops sp. but don't they have a distinct rib running down the chelae?

What are you talking about? The genus in general? A certain species? There are differences....

Not all species of Euscorpiops have keel(-s) on the chela, some do not have keels, but just granules all over the chela.....so it differs per species...

If Heterometrus, reflection too dull for spinifer imo. I know some say, "it might be dirt", but it's not common to have that dull look evenly all over the scorpion. H. petersii has that dull look along with laoticus. Pics taken with more light would help out.
