Since I moved my Scolopendra cingulata (Greece) to a bigger enclosure,it has become very active, roaming the entire setup every night (looking for a way out I guess). Yesterday I wanted to film it running around, so I did, after a while I opened the lid to get a shot from above. That's when the weirdest thing happened,it froze in a very odd position,it looks almost as if it's playing dead. It stayed in that position for a couple of minutes or so,and then all of a sudden it just ran with the speed of lightning to the other end and took a head dive into the substrate. Here's a couple of pics (and no, I haven't trained it to roll, sit and play dead :D ).

Perhaps its a threat? Showing off those big nasty fangs before making a bolt while the predator is shocked?
